He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and also attended Georgetown University. He completed Medical School at the Wright State University School of Medicine, where he completed his residency.

He is a Fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics and is Certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Ohio State Medical Association.
